Seeing The Good In People

Seeing The Good In People

On almost a daily basis I find I get upset, exasperated or downright mad at the actions of others. I try not to but the pure ignorance and selfishness of some people blows my mind.

Even the  little things that I should be able to look past have really been  getting to me.

The lady that walks her dog across the street and doesn’t clean up after it every day. The people that speed up to get through the crosswalk so they don’t have to stop when a family with small children are standing there waiting to cross.

It seems to me that being kind and helpful to others has been lost and most people are now only concerned with looking out for themselves.

So when I come across a story about someone thinking about someone else it really brightens my day and makes me feel that maybe things aren’t as bad as they seem.

Normally,  I find these stories as they appear in my  Facebook newsfeed or when I stumble across them on Pinterest. Today, feeling a little blue about a selfish act I witnessed I went actively searching for a story or two to cheer me up.

What I discovered and what truly gives me hope is that there are lots of truly helpful people still left in the world! Check out Gives Me Hope or Random Acts Of Kindness.

Here are some great stories that made me smile and I hope they do the same for you.

Be Kinder Than NecessaryOk…I was going to just share one story but reading through them,  I couldn’t narrow it down to just one. I have seen some of these before, as I’m sure you have, but they are such great stories showing the kindness and compassion people truly have in them that I had to share more than one.

Have some kleenexes handy because they made me a little teary eyed.

I am working hard on trying  to remember that this world is filled with so many good, amazing, kind hearted people and in doing so work hard on being one of these individuals myself. I hope you do the same.

If we all put ourselves out there and offer a kind word or a smile it may just turn someone’s day around and inspire them to pass it along.
